3 Simple Steps To Block Low Paying Ads
All Google Adsense publishers must have known that filtering low paying ads can increase their incomes. The question is: how can we know which ones are Low Paying Ads? Though Google Adsense provides a utility to filter low paying ads in their control panel, they do not provide any utilities to detect which ads are the low paying ones (they have a reason for this, just read my explanations in the "caution" section below).
Fortunately, there are some free online tools we can use for this purpose. One of them is addfreestats (if you don't know what Addfreestats is and how to use it, you can read my article about How to Track Google Adsense Clicks). Here are 3 simple steps to block low paying ads:
Step 1: Creating URL Channels
First, you have to log in to your Google Adsense Account, and then create URL channel for each of your page (if you don't know what Google Adsense Channel is and how to use it, you can read the tutorial here). For example, I create 11 URL channels for each of my page:
- http://www.MakeMoneyAtHome-Idea.com/make_money_at_home.php
- http://www.MakeMoneyAtHome-Idea.com/make_money_from_blogs.php
- etc
Next, you will have to monitor your Google Adsense statistics. If you find out that one of your webpages generated high CTR but totally low income, then it means that there were Low Paying Ads in that page. Now of course you will have to find and block these Low Paying Ads.
Step 2: Find the Low Paying Ads
To find them, you can use Addfreestats. Log in to your account, then click "Exit/Adsense Link" menu on the left. You will see a report like this one below. That is the list of all Exit and Adsense Link that were clicked by your visitors.
Now you will have to filter this report by selecting the title of the page that generated high CTR, low income. You can see the image below.
In my website, the title of the page is "Make Money At Home Idea" that's located in http://www.MakeMoneyAtHome-Idea.com/make_money_at_home.php. You will see a report like this one below. There are two kinds of links here:
- Normal Exit Link, in my website it points to articlecity.com
- Google Adsense Link
If you click the
icon on the left, you will find the list of Google Adsense Ads that were clicked in that page. These are the Low Paying Ads that you're looking for!
Step 3: Block Them!
The final step is filtering those Low Paying Ads by using the "Competitive Ad Filter List" in your Google Adsense Account (if you don't know how to do it, you can read it here).
Caution!
Though there are so many people suggesting this way to increase your Google Adsense incomes, it's actually not too effective and also very risky. Why?
- Google has confirmed that High Paying Ads are prioritized.
They always show the highest paying ads first. So if your website shows too many low paying ads, there is possibility that there are not many high paying ads for your selected keywords. If this is correct, filtering low paying ads will not help. It will even make your website running out of ads. And if this happens, Google will show PSAs (Public Service Ads) in your website, and you will not get any fees. - Most of Google Adsense Ads are Geo Targeted Ads.
When a visitor accesses your website, first Google will check where he/ she comes from, and then serve Adsense Ads based on those informations. So if your visitor is US based, most of the Ads will be US based. If your visitor comes from Australia , most of the Ads will be Australia based too. Of course this will affect your fees. A US based visitor who clicks US based Ads will produce higher fee than an Australian visitor who click US based Ads. Now for example, there are many Australian visitors click your US based ads. You check your Google Adsense stats, there is High CTR but totally low income. You then block these ads without knowing the reality that they actually are high paying Ads for US based visitors!
