How to Attract More Bidders to Your eBay Auction (part 2)

This is the second part of How to Attract More Bidders to Your eBay Auction. You can find the first part here.

  1. Offer several types of payments
While eBay recommends using paypal to accept payments, it is a lot better if you offer several types of payments. Please remember that some people still feel unsafe with paypal and prefer using checks or money orders instead. If you just use paypal, it means that you limit your own market.
  2. Start with a low opening price
Survey shows that a low opening price always attracts many bidders. Many bidders mean that your auction will eventually end up in a higher closing price. But please don't overdo it. If you want to use this approach, firstly you must do some research about your item. Just compare it with other similar items in eBay listing to find the best starting price. Secondly, ask yourself what is the minimum price you are ready to accept?
  3. Offer a free or reduced shipping cost
Why don't you offer free or reduced shipping cost if you can use some of your profit to subsidize it? This will absolutely attract many bidders. Seems like some eBay sellers have been starting using this technique to attracting more bidders to their auctions.
  4. Create a review about your product/ store
eBay allows its members to create product reviews. You as sellers can also use it to promote your auction/ store. Just create a review about it and don't forget to provide a link to your auction/ store. Please be honest and helpful (don't spam) because the main purpose for this review is to help other eBay members.
  5. Create a guide
Beside product reviews, eBay also allows its member to create guides. So why don't use it to promote your auction/ store? For example, you provide women's apparel. Why don't you create a guide about the latest fashion and provide a link to your store?
