What Problems You Should Expect in Drop Shipping
There are many problems could arise in drop shipping; even if you are dealing with the legitimate drop shippers. What are them?
- What if the ordered product is out of stock?
As a seller, you never stock any goods and fully rely on your drop shipper; so what if the product you are selling is out of stock? Firstly, you can avoid this problem by ensuring that the drop shipper has enough supplies. Don't ever try to sell anything that only has less than a dozen in stock, unless you buy and keep it in stock first. Secondly, if this problem really happens; there is no other way than offering your customer a refund or replace it with another item. Of course there is possibility that he/ she gives you negative feedback, but at least you have shown your good will to resolve this problem. Just remember, there is one important thing you shouldn't do here: do not ever blame your drop shipper about it. If your customer finds out that you are not the real seller and it is revealed in his/ her feedback, your reputation is ruined. No one will ever buy from you again. - What if there is delay in the delivery process?
Every reliable drop shipper must have clearly stated how long the delivery process is. There should be any delays, unless there is force majeure. But if it really happens, you should contact your drop shipper as soon as possible and inform the result to your customer. Fortunately, many drop shippers now give you a tracking number; so you can always check where the location of your item is. - What if there is complaint from your customer about the product?
This is one of the most crucial point you should check when you first choose which drop shipper you deal with. You must ensure that they can handle any complaints about their products. It is your responsibility to resolve every complaint you got with them. - What if your customer wants to return the product?
Every reliable drop shipper must have clearly stated their return policy in their website. As long as your returned item is not violating their policy, there will be no problem. But what if the product is not in a good condition anymore and your customer insists to return it back? As long as the product is not damaged, you may offer them a refund (but reduce it since the product is not in a good condition anymore) and then sell it again on eBay. - What if your customer wants to refund their money?
Again, as long as the product is not damaged, you may agree for a refund (you can reduce it if the product is not in a good condition anymore) and then sell it again on eBay.
