What You Need to Know About Paid Surveys (part 2)

In the first article, I have told you what online paid surveys are. Now I will tell you how to determine which online paid surveys company is legitimate, and which one is a scam.

  1. I live outside Canada and the US, are there any paid surveys for me?
Yes, there are many international companies that are looking for feedbacks from their consumers and they hire international research companies for these purposes.
  2. How do I know which paid surveys companies are legitimate?
There are many ways to check this out. Here they are:

    • Are they trying to sell something?
If they ask you to buy something before joining, please be careful. A legitimate research company will never try to sell products or services.
    • Will they sell or reveal your email address?
The answer should be NO. You can check this out in their privacy policy section. If you're not convinced yet, you may email them.
    • Ask about them in the related forum (paid surveys or work from home forum).
You can find many experienced people in these forums. They usually have been doing online paid surveys for years and know which companies are the best.
    • Find about their credibility in search engines by using this keyword: "company_name scam".
This is the easiest way to check the credibility of a company. If they got many complaints from their members, then they obviously are not the legitimate ones.
    • Find out are they the members of BBBOnline or not?
The Better Business BureauBBBOnline is an organization that helps solving problems between consumers and companies. They have a strict policy, that's why not every company meets their standards. So if a company is the member of BBBOnline, you can be rest assured. Firstly, they are most likely the legitimate one. Secondly, if you have any problems, you can report them to BBBOnline.
  3. What are the best online paid surveys?
There is no exact answer for this question. You may ask 10 people, and I believe their answers will not be the same. Actually, there is a great website called Survey Police where you can find this out. This website rates and ranks every paid surveys company based on their user's reviews.
  4. Paid Surveys Scam
There are many kinds of paid surveys scams; here they are:

    • You are asked to pay to access the database of paid surveys companies. Firstly, you can get this information freely if you're willing to spend some time for researching. Secondly, though this database is real, most of them have been outdated.
    • You have completed the survey, but you don't get paid.
    • You have to accumulate hundreds of dollars before they send your check. This means it could take months or even years before you get paid.
    • You have to accumulate several points before they send your check, but they do not tell you that these points can expire within a certain amount of time.

So how can you avoid these scams? Just take a look at this marvelous article.
